Job Announcement
The Graduate Program in Translation and Interpretation (GPTI) at National Taiwan University announces two adjunct positions in Chinese-English Interpreting and Translation. Initial appointment period will begin on August 1, 2022. Application deadline is February 8, 2022.
General Requirements:
- PhD. preferred but candidates possessing a Master’s degree in related fields and professional experience may be considered.
- Applicants for the interpreting track position should demonstrate substantial practical experience in local and/or overseas conference interpreting markets. Candidates with more than 150 days of professional work are preferred.
- Specialties sought:
- Interpreting
- Translation: a variety of specializations, especially in Film translation, subtitling,etc.
- (Track 1) Instructor or above: require at least one academic book (including MA or PhD thesis) or two academic papers, all of which must be published after August 2017
- (Track 2) Specialist: require a minimum of 6 years of translation experience
Salary and Rank:
Adjunct faculty members are paid by the hour at 760 NTD (approximately 27 USD; subject to exchange rates) for Assistant Professors and 695 NTD (approximately 24 USD; subject to exchange rates) for Lecturers (subject to 18% income tax for those who hold a foreign passport and reside in Taiwan less than 183 days in a calendar year). This position does not provide housing or other benefits.
